چکیده

There is a lack of studies on the root-associated bacterial microbiome cassava plants. The identification and characterization rhizobacteria can contribute to understanding adaptation agriculturally important crop plants abiotic stress. Rhizobacteria play significant role in plants, as they alleviate drought stress by various mechanisms that enhance plant growth under these stressor conditions. In this study, Gram-negative strains from rhizosphere Manihot esculenta Crantz CIAT MCOL1734 variety subjected water deprivation were isolated, characterized according their morphological properties, then identified VITEK® 2. An increase diversity, abundance, species richness rhizobacterial community was found water-deficit total, 58 isolated process bacteria belonged 12 genera: Achromobacter, Acinetobacter, Aeromonas, Buttiauxella, Cronobacter, Klebsiella, Ochrobactrum, Pluralibacter, Pseudomonas, Rhizobium, Serratia, Sphingomonas. Interestingly, Pseudomonas luteola Ocrhobactrum anthropi exclusively submitted roots constitute great reservoir with remarkable potential for biotechnological application improve tolerance crops

Factors affecting cyanide content in cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) [Faktor yang mempengaruhi kandungan sianida dalam ubi kayu (Manihot esculenta Crantz)]

Concern over poisoning as a result of eating cassava roots or shoots has led to these studies to determine factors which lead to high cyanide content in these tissues and how detoxification can be carried out. Plant age or stage of development does not seem to have a clear influence on root or shoot cyanide content. Genetic control on cyanide content seems significant as varieties may be identi...

Anatomical alterations due to polyploidy in cassava, Manihot esculenta Crantz.

Information on anatomical structure is needed by breeders working on improvement for drought tolerance. For studying the effect of polyploidy on cassava anatomy and its significance to tolerance to drought, we induced a polyploidy type of a selected clone (UnB 530) by applying an aqueous solution of 0.2% colchicine on lateral buds for a period of 12 h. The stem identified as tetraploid was prop...

Unveiling the Micronome of Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz)

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are an important class of endogenous non-coding single-stranded small RNAs (21-24 nt in length), which serve as post-transcriptional negative regulators of gene expression in plants. Despite the economic importance of Manihot esculenta Crantz (cassava) only 153 putative cassava miRNAs (from multiple germplasm) are available to date in miRBase (Version 21), and identification ...

The Diversity of Bitter Manioc (Manihot Esculenta Crantz) Cultivation in a Whitewater Amazonian Landscape

While bitter manioc has been one of the most important staple crops in the central Amazon for thousands of years, there have been few studies of its cultivation in the fertile whitewater landscapes of this region. Anthropological research on bitter manioc cultivation in the Amazon has focused almost exclusively on long-fallow shifting cultivation in marginal upland areas of low soil fertility. ...

Cassava, Manihot esculenta Crantz genetic resources: VI. Anatomy of a diversity center.

Central Brasil is one of the four centers of diversity of Manihot species. Of 26 wild Manihot species reported to occur in this region, 20 were collected from two limited areas, each less than 100 km in diameter. These two areas are Goiás Velho and Corumbá de Goiás. Considering the Harlan concept of geographic patterns of variation of cultivated crops, it is assumed that the two areas are micro...
